Snowshoeing!

So, I went snowshoeing in February, and I had intended to write up a nice little thing about the trip, but then I didn't.  It was my first time out snowshoeing and I was trying it out, we didn't REALLY need the snowshoes that day as it was pretty well packed down where we were.  Jeff wasn't feeling well, but he decided to bring us out anyways.  The trip was shorter and certainly less strenuous then I was anticipating, which was probably a good thing, snowshoeing is way more work then I realized.  I had a blast though and am hoping to get some snowshoes for next season, they are kind of expensive so we'll see how that goes. Here are some pictures from our trip!  They start out leaving the vehicle, finding a cache, then we work our way around Gold Creek Pond and end up back at the vehicles.  Here are some of the sights along the way! Enjoy!

New Shoes!

This weekend I'm heading out to go snowshoeing for my first time ever.  I needed some new hiking boots, I know my feet are probably going to get wet in these, but at least I'll have a little more support.  I'm hoping I wore them enough this week that they are comfy for the weekend.  I bought these are Fred Meyers and they were fairly inexpensive, someday I'll get a good pair but that will have to wait.

I also replaced my old tennis shoes, they were super old and I really needed to get new ones.  I got the Brooks Ariel shoes, the same shoes I've had for quite a few years now, they are just a new color.  Kinda sad, my old ones were green and I really loved the color.  These things aren't cheap but they are the most comfy shoe I've found for my feet.

I also got a new fleece for snowshoeing (and just because I needed a new fleece).  It's green and it is supposed to block out wind, lets hope it really does!  I love the green color.  Not the best picture of me, but you can see the fleece color pretty well.

Anywho, that what I got on my shopping trip last weekend.  And you can look forward to a new blog sometime next week about my snowshoeing adventure that I'm going on this Sunday.  I'm excited and I promise to take lots of pictures!

Perfume...

So if you like the stuff, I am happy for you.  But it makes my head feel like it's about to explode, it makes my eyes sting, and frankly I hate the stuff.  So please, when someone tells you they have an allergy to the stuff and it makes them feel icky.  DON'T put it on right next to them.  And if you are going to put it on, keep it light.  M'k, Thanks.

I know no one that reads this needs me to tell them this but my eyes are stinging me something horrible and I needed to vent.

Another Trip to the Zoo

Last Monday Richard and I took another trip to the zoo, no matter how many times I go it never does seem to get old.  This time we went to look at the African Savannah but there weren't many animals out there.  After that we went through the Trail of Vines exhibit, neither of us could remember the last time we visited that section of the zoo.  Then it was off to the Northern Trail, I can't go to the zoo without going to that exhibit.  Then we went to the day and night exhibit; I wanted to make sure we went there before they close the night half.  It will be sad to have that exhibit no longer open, it will be closing sometime later this year. I do understand the zoos reasoning behind choosing that exhibit to close, I just hope they will be able to open it again sometime in the not TOO far away future.  After that went and saw the penguins, the tropical house (which has the open aviary we love to go sit in) and the flamingos before heading home for the day.

Here are a few pictures from our latest zoo adventure.
